How many days before your period due and got a positive pregnancy test?

i would just like to know how effective the early prg tests are, and if not effecttive before period, how many days did you have to wait?

We were ttc so I took a hospital pregnancy test my friend gave me on 8/10 (at night) and got a really really faint + so I went to walmart and bought an equate 3 pack hpt and took one same night and got really faint + too. Took another one on 8/11 in the morning and got a faint + again so I had blood drawn. Turns out they were accurate and I am pregnant. My period wasn't due until 8/14 so I guess I got + sign 4 days before my missed period. With my 2 boys I didnt find out until after I missed my period though.

you can get a positive pregnancy test 5 days before your missed period.. it just depends on what test you use.. or you can go to the doctor and get a blood test

i used the EPT  test 3 days after my missed period and it was negative. turns out i was pregnant but i didn't know till i missed two periods and finally took another test. Good luck but i were you i would wait until at least a week after your missed period before trusting the results of a HPT

I used First Response and got a positive result 1 day before my missed period. It was a faint positive though.

with my first child i tested a week before and it came out positive. but with this pregnancy it was 4 days late

IF YOURE GONNA TAKE A TEST BEFORE YOUR MISSED PERIOD YOUR SUPPOSED TO TAKE IT FIVE DAYS OR LESS THEN BEFORE YOUR MISSED PERIOD LIKE THE TEST SAYS, BUT IM NOT REALLY A BIG BELIEVER ON TESTING BEFORE YOUR MISSED PERIOD BECAUSE THATS THE MAIN SYMPTOM  THAT LETS YOU KNOW YOU ARE PREGNANT. THAT WAS ACTUALLY THE ONLY SYMPTOM I GOT, NO SORE b*****s, NO CRAMPING, NO NAUSEA OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, JUST A MISSED PERIOD. BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS TRY, IF YOU GET A NEGATIVE BUT STILL MISS YOUR PERIOD I WOULD DEFINITELY WAIT FIVE DAYS AFTER YOUR MISSED PERIOD TO TAKE ANOTHER TEST. GOOD LUCK!

They say they can show up 5 days before a missed period. I never had much luck with them. My tests all came back positive once I missed my period.

2 days after a missed period with #1. but since I am TTC #2 I am not waiting that long this time, I will be testing 3 days before!

The most accurate test is a blood test which can detect a pregnancy very early. For home tests, the packaging will advise how accurate they can be. However, you need to add a tolerence. The most sensitive home tests pick up a pregnancy 7 days after conception, which for *most* women is a week before you miss a period, but the actual conception day is not normally perfectly predictable and can vary 2 days either way even for a woman whose periods are extremely regular. If I were you, I'd buy a test, read when it can be used, and then use it a few days after that. If it's negative, re-test a week later. And if the pregnancy was unplanned, use this as a great scare tactic to be much more careful next time. Good luck and I hope you get the result you want.

I took a test June 6th and got a positive both with EPT and First Response.  My period was not due until June 9th.
