well that depends on if you have ovulated yet.....generally you can take one at anytime lol....however it wont show + until the presence of the HCG hormone is detected and that can occure anywhere from 9 dpo +

approximately 2 weeks, however there are some HPT that can detect pregnancy 5 days sooner.. they are more expensive and not really worth it.

I would definitely wait two weeks or at least wait until your miss your expected period. I have done the early detection tests and the closer you are to a missed period, the more accurate...i know that it is EXTREMELY difficult to wait when you are sooo wanting to get pregnant but it is the best thing you can do to keep your sanity...and not become a POAS addict (like me!) This month I didn't take ONE preggo test!! And I didn't get my hopes up like the past 5 months!  So, wait wait wait....and keep yourself plenty busy as to not think about the date!

Wait until you miss a period. Testing before a missed period, even with those so-called "early" tests, runs you the risk of testing too early and getting a false result.

You need to take a pregnancy test a day after your missed period.....  if you take a test before your missed period, it might negative coz the hormone wuld not have reached the amount to show on the test

it's not after intercourse that you have to wait..(well it is but..)

you should wait 2 weeks after ovulation.. and as sperm can live up to 5 days (sometime 7) you can have s*x and not get pregnant for almost a week..and then it won't be detectable for another 2 weeks! You have to wait for implantation to occur before a hpt can register a pregnancy,

and implantation can take anywhere from 7-14 days!
