i called and told the secretary, she told me it was listed in a site only realtors could enter. (but i'm sure it was MLS)

we just have the sign on the front yard.

what do we have to do now?

we reeaaaaaaally NEED and WANT to sell our house as soon as possible.

  1. Call the RE firm you listed with and ask to speak to the Broker.  That is the responsible person.  Your property should have been in MLS within 2-3 days.  Somebody is dropping the ball.

If you don't get satisfaction, cancel the listing (for lack of performance) and find another agent with another firm.

  2. This is definitely outside the window of a normal time period for this type of transaction. Your listing should show up on the MLS within 24 hours.

You should move up the chain of command at your realtor's office and get it resolved ASAP. Things are tough enough for sellers right now to have this happen.

  3. You trust what another real estate salesperson told you about your house listing not being on the MLS ?  Did it occur to you to talk to the REALTOR with whom you listed your house to verify what you heard ?

Check to see if your house is visible for view on www.realtor.com.  If it's there, it's also in your MLS, because that's the ONLY way they get to www.realtor.com.

  4. Your listing should be on the MLS within 24hrs of a signed listing contract.  The agent should have given you a copy of the listing posted on the MLS.  Ask your agent for a copy.

  5. .   I got a call from a woman who asked me about real estate and asked if i could check if her house was in MLS.  I checked. It was not.  She called her agent.  He had put the listing form in his briefcase and completely forgot about it.  3 weeks had gone by with no one noticing.  He apologized and entered the house in MLS.

  6. Ok..you need to tell your Realtor to answer some questions.

She should have had the property listed within 24 hours of you signing the listing contract.

I HAVE seen where a sloppy Realtor has miscatagorized the property, and that is why it doesn't show up on an MLS search.

Call your Realtor, and ask her SPECIFICALLY, what the MLS number is and double check it on Realtor.com

If you don't see it on Realtor.com, then she doesn't have your property listed b/c every MLS (and MLS is a system the Board of Realtors owns, not a lay term) in the country automatically feeds into Realtor.com

    Check it out!

  7. The salesman you were talking to is most likely a trouble making snake.

Ask you agent, but I am sure they listed you.   Nothing would motivate them not to, but greed and lack of ethics would motivate the other agent.   Some of them are real $hitheads.
