How many days do you have to be off of work?

have hurt my foot and need to know how many days have to be off for workmans comp to pay

Seven day, at least in the state of Louisiana.

It doesn't depend on the company.

It depends on what state you live in.  It can be as few as three, and as many as 21, depending on your state.

HOWEVER.  The clock doesn't start ticking, until after a doctor has said that you can't be at work.  So, if you take two days off because of that foot, and see the doctor on the third day, well, the third day is the FIRST day you're released from work.

This will vary depending on your company. Consult HR and ask them what the policy is on getting works comp for injury related to the job. There will be forms you need to fill out and most of it is explaining what happened. The rest will be determined by your company.
