How many days do you normally ovulate for?

Well im breastfeeding my 8 month old and im so irregular with my periods. But I finally had one at the end of July, and I thought i ovulated shortly after that because of the extra mucous. (sorry To much Information) But now im not sure.. Can anyone tell me how long you normally ovulate for? and usually have far after your period is it? Thanks

On a usual 28 day cycle you ovulate around day 14 and your period is 14 days later.  Once you ovulate the egg is only good for 12-24 hours so you really need to do bd before ovulation.  Good luck
