How many days do you ovulate for?

i took a ovulation test on the 4th and the 5th and it said i will be ovulating in 24-48 hours and now i took a test it didn't say i was ovulating.i should ovulate on the 7th or 8th

  1. You ovulate just once a month but you are fertile leading up to your ovulation day and maybe a couple of days after.

    Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating plus it keeps tracks of your periods. It will even email you ahead of time to alert you of your upcoming fertile/ovulation and period dates. It is a free and very helpful website.


  2. You ovulate once, and the egg stays viable for 12-24 hours. You are fertile for around 5 days before you ovulate (because that's how long sperm typically can live in your body), and are not fertile for the rest of that cycle after ovulation.
