How many days do you ovulate for?

i took a ovulation test on the 4th and the 5th and it said i will be ovulating in 24-48 hours and now i took a test it didn't say i was ovulating.i should ovulate on the 7th or 8th

You ovulate just once a month but you are fertile leading up to your ovulation day and maybe a couple of days after.

You ovulate once, and the egg stays viable for 12-24 hours. You are fertile for around 5 days before you ovulate (because that's how long sperm typically can live in your body), and are not fertile for the rest of that cycle after ovulation.
