How many days does it take to grow a yam?

I have a project and i have to explain how they can grow in outer space pretty dumb but help

It takes about 5 to 6 weeks to grow a yam.

Yams can't actually grow in a vacuum like outer space, but NASA has been exploring ways to grow crops in space.  Experiments have shown that using the right techniques, the yield for wheat is 5x as large when grown in space.
