How many days max a US grenn Card holder stay ouside US without affecting application of citizenship status?

Basically i m a greencard holder and i have also applied for US Citizenship. There is requirement that a green card holder must reside in US for 60 months to get the US passport. but a person can travel outside US for a certain time period without affecting the citizenship requirement status. i just need to clairfy that what is the maimum number of days i could stay outsude US without affecting the limit of 60 Months stay at US.

  1. If you're gone more than 6 months you must start your 60 months over from the beginning.


  2. hi, it is 180 days within 5 yrs.

  3. In terms of Continuous Residence for US citizenship purposes, If you leave the United States for more than 6 months, you are no longer eligible.
