  1. Actually, for the northern hemisphere, the winter season consists of about 90 days, while the summer season lasts about 94 days.  This is because the Earth is a little closer to the Sun during the northern hemisphere winter.  It's orbital speed is a little faster and thus takes less time to reach the point in it's orbit which defines the beginning of Spring.


  2. There should be roughly 90 days of each season; or 91.25 days to be exact will equal 365 days.
