How many days out of the year do you not regulate your temperature in your home?

How many days out of the years is not not an A/C or Heater running? A fan doesn't count.

Also, where do you live?

probably 80 to 120 the weather varies a lot in missouri, I'm comfortable with 80 degrees inside summer temp. & most days I can maintain that by opening the windows at night & closing them in the morning.

I use a wood stove in winter & I still spend a lot more for heat than for electricity. my biggest gas bill was $109 last month when I ran out of wood for a couple of weeks. I never have a $100 electric bill even in august.

In No.Cal I can go 300 day days w/o heater or a/c but I do use my pellet insert and fans.

We get a delta breeze so I open windows and use an electric blanket in the winter.

300 +/- 10   We live in southern Ontario, latitude 46N.  We have no need for a/c, and heating is mostly solar (passive) which we do not count as regulating. But we do open and close venetian blinds daily. year round.

55 to 75 days a year we put a load of limb wood into a wood stove.

Does cooking count?   I do lots of baking in the winter.   I gave away my AC last year and usually try to keep the house above freezing in the winter.    300 days or so.   Maine now.

We use our heater sparingly even during winter. AC? Nah, No need. Swamp cooler. Of course, this IS Southern California...

I live in MN so, it's cold here during the winter and yes, we do thaw out and it does get hot in the summer.   So, heat in the winter and A/C in the summer.

I'd say I'm not using heat or A/C for about 80-90 days out of the year.

I have programmable thermostats during the winter and summer, but I can turn it off on those rare but perfect days.
