I come from there ! Its a great European city and has much much history. I cant tell you how long to stay because I have lived there for my whole life and still dont know everything and sometimes get lost in this beautiful city. As a tourist you will never truly enjoy the city as you dont live there.

However I would say a week would be enough to rush through every classic tourist trap
