before applying you must be accepted by a school/uni etc in canada

It won't be " days " it will be months .

FIRST you  need a letter of acceptance, from a Canadian University, THEN you can apply to the Government of Canada, for a student visa.

That process will take months, as they will have to check your criminal records in your home country, and do a security check on your family, as  well.
