How many days will a new monroe piercing be swollen for?

I'm getting mine done on Saturday but my school pictures are the next Thursday - 5 days after I will have gotten it done. Will the swelling be gone and everything else look normal for the pictures?

And also, is a 14g or a 16g better if I know I will wanna wear a clear retainer at some point?

Mine was swollen for 3 days.

I'd go for 14g because they're easier to get clear retainers for.

I agree, the 14 is better for a retainer. however most facial/ oral piercings are swllen for 3-7 days, and thee may be some redness (you should not put make up over the area for several weeks as you can do damage to the wound and risk infection) so i'd advice you wait untill after your pics!
