How many deaths per day in the USA?

I don't need to know the cause of death, just the statistic.

Somewhere there must be a number. A general estimate.

You know, like Population of the US = X

Average births daily/monthly/annually = Y

Average deaths daily/monthly/annually = Z

  1. Total US population: 304,877,952

    One birth every 7 seconds (approx. 12,343/day, 86,401/week, 370,290/month, 4,508,281/year)

    One death every 14 seconds (approx. 6,171/day, 43,197/week, 185,130/month, 2,253,958/year)

    One immigrant every 30 seconds (approx. 2,880/day 20,160/week, 86,400/month, 1,051,200/year)

Net gain of one person ever 10 seconds (3,155,693 people/year)

  2. Try searching through the US Census.

  3. Population (X)

    304,877,997

    Births (Y)

    1 birth every 7 seconds

    Per day: 12,342

    Per month: 375,428

    Per year: 4,505,142

    Deaths (Z)

    1 death every 14 seconds

    Per day: 6,171

    Per month: 187,714

    Per year: 2,252,571

Note: By the time you read this, the population would have increased. For the daily, monthly and yearly amounts, I have calculated using:

    1 day = 24 hours = 24 * 60 * 60 = 86,400 seconds

    1 year = 365 days

    1 month = (1 year) / 12

Of course, these are approximate values. I thought it is better to calculate the year and then the month. This way, you don't have to worry about the number of days in a month.

  4. National Center for Health Statistics
