How many decks does a battleship have?

i was wondering how many decks a battleship such as the Yamato, Iowa, or MOntana, or other large classed would have above and then below the waterline? please specify how may are above and how many below

  1. That answer varies massively depending on Class of Battleship. Yamato is taller than Iowa . There are sites that have the deck plans for the battleships in question the anatomy of a battleship series of books is a good place to start. I am sure the there are cutaway deck plans on line.


  2. Yeah...google for a deck level  cut-away.

    Guessing at least 5.

    Only one surface deck though...four sections...foredeck, 2 side decks and aft deck near the transom.

  3. check out navyships.com different ships have different deck layout. I would google the ship name and it will tell you alot of info including the decks.

  4. Depends on whether you count Turret 2's extra height as a deck.   5-7 decks, depending on how you count it.  

    This isn't considering the superstructure at all.
