  2. France is divided into 26 administrative regions. 22 are in metropolitan France (21 are on the continental part of metropolitan France; one is the territorial collectivity of Corsica), and four are overseas regions. The 26 regions are further subdivided into 100 departments. The overseas regions are: Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, and Réunion

There are also  six overseas collectivities, one sui generis collectivity (New Caledonia), and one overseas territory (the French Southern and Antarctic Lands.).

The six overseas collectives are: French Polynesia,Mayotte, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, and Wallis and Futuna.

The currency of France is the Euro.

France's Pacific Island possessions use a seperate currency called the Pacific Franc (in English) or, in French,  the CFP franc. (CPF=Colonies françaises du Pacifique (original name)  or Change Franc Pacifique (current name))
