  1. if i know there is more than 7,in the 90ties,maybe at the monaco grand prix from 1996,but i'm not sure!!!

    Six and seven leaders has happened fairly often.

    The 1971 Italian GP had 8 leaders: Regazzoni, Peterson, Stewart, Cevert, Hailwood, Siffert, Amon & Gethin.

    Leave this open until Wednesday morning and I'll give you a definitive answer! I'm off to bed now.

    I think that's it, 1971 Italian GP with 8 leaders. I've found lots of examples of 6 and 7 leaders, but no other 8s. Even the Indy 500s which counted for the F1 championship didn't have more than 6 leaders.
