Question:

How many different sources of energy are there in the world?

It's important that we distinguish between an energy source (such as the sun) and an energy carrier (such as electricity, which can only be produced from another energy source).

With that rule in mind, I'm struggling to find more than three, and even one of those is dubious.

  1. Cables carry electricity. It can be generated from many sources as like wind water coal gas nuclear and so on.

All energy originates from the sun,no sun,no life,no fossil fuels,no wind,no one to split the atom.

Hydro electricity does not rely on the wind, just the natural power of flowing water.

  2. Hey keep up the Quality of jokes lil' trooper

This one'll have me laughing for days!

  3. wind

    sunlight (solar)

    water (wave)

    Oil

    Coal

    Nuclear (SP)

  4. Waves are created by the movements of the sea which is controlled by the moon numb nuts

  5. would methane produced from flatulence count?

(this is the jokes and riddle section)

  6. fundamentally the basic forces are strong, weak, electromagnetic and gravitational (although the two middle are sometimes classed as 1).  Force is the source of work, the transfer of energy.

less fundamental answers of energy sources

heat/ radiation/ gravitational pull from sources other than the sun

    electromagnetic induction.

remember to count nuclear fusion and fission

gas diffusion (random movement), also diffusion/ osmosis/ capilary effect etc of particles in solution

    geothermal energy.

    energy from mass/antimass anhilation

    vibration from sound

anything that falls due to gravity (not always sourced to the sun e.g. meteors)

  7. Solar power

    Wave power

    Wind power

    Water power

    Nuclear power
