  1. 251

  2. Depending on the type of ball, anywhere from 300 to 440.  It varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

  3. Apparently it's 336 for American and 330 for British designs.  No idea why the difference.

  4. Most balls on sale today have about 300 to 450 dimples

  5. Golf Ball Dimples - How Many?

A Kidzworld member asked the Zone, "How many dimples does a golf ball have?" We put this question to the Sports Lab which now has the answer.

Rather than actually count every single dimple on a golf ball, we asked Bob Thurman, who tests and designs golf balls for Wilson Sports. He says a golf ball usually has anywhere from 330 to 500 dimples - depending on which company designs the ball. The dimples help the ball travel further and higher.

  6. The number of dimples on a golf ball can vary depending on the manufacturer. Typically there are between 350 to 500 dimples.

  7. count em. you will get 10 points for yourself for the best answer..lol

  8. TopFlite has now doubled the number of dimples by adding a dimple in the dimple.  Now the answer to your question varies between 350 and 800.

  9. it depends on what golf ball you use i have used ones with 432 dimples and some with 404 Nike One Platinum uses 404 and its used for greater carry. Balls with less dimples promote greater roll. It all depends what you want out of your golf ball. I love Platinum but also heard titlist Pro V1X are great balls too but you will be paying $40+ a dozen.

  10. who would seriously sit there and count that??

  11. A Lot!

  13. Depends on the make of the ball. Usually around 400, +/-

  14. Anywhere between 300-450 i think

I play the Srixon 333 and it has 333 dimples (hence the name)

  15. 300-500 depending on the intended performance of the ball

  16. I sat for over an hour using a magic marker to put dots in the dimples of golf balls. I didn't want to count the same dimple more than once. I wrote down a mark for each dot. I counted  286 dots on the first ball, a TopFlite XL, but then I lost track with about 20% of the dimples unmarked. I started a second ball but lost track at about 157 and over half left. I am not sure I want to keep doing this.
