  1. dont the titelists have 392?

  2. I believe Titleist's have 349, Callaway have 338, Bridgestone have 358.  I've personally counted them.  No, not really.  I wouldn't worry about how many dimples there are on a golf ball.  You buy a ball and it should be a legal golf ball.  Make the other person count the dimples if there's any question.

  3. What ball are you wanting to know about?  Most balls today have between 300-500 dimples.  There is no regulation, in the beginning there were no dimples and there was once a ball with over 1200 dimples

  4. There is no rule about the number of dimples. The PGA Tour conforms to the rules of golf as set by the United States Golf Association. The USGA maintains a list of conforming and non-conforming balls. But number of dimples is not a criteria.

You can find USGA rules on equipment here:

  5. Most balls have about 300 to 450 dimples.

  6. You got some very bad information and let's stop asking this question.

  7. Varies by manufacturer.

  8. Most balls on sale today have about 300 to 450 dimples.

There were a few balls having over 500 dimples before. The record holder was a ball with 1,070 dimples -- 414 larger ones (in four different sizes) and 656 pinhead-sized ones. All brands of balls, except one, have even-numbered dimples. The only odd-numbered ball on market is a ball with 333 dimples.

Officially sanctioned balls are designed to be as symmetrical as possible. There was a ball that had six rows of normal dimples on its equator, and very shallow dimples elsewhere. This asymmetrical design helps the ball self-adjust its spin-axis during the flight. The USGA did not sanction it and changed the rules to ban aerodynamic asymmetrical balls. The ball supplier sued the USGA and the USGA paid U.S. $1.375 million in an out of court settlement.

  9. No rule on the number allowed - it differs by manufacturer.  There are rules that allow a ball on to the "Conforming List", but number of dimples isn't one of them.

  10. The average strawberry has 200 seeds.

  11. 479
