  1. horses are pretty :)

  2. ok well i mix my 16.1 tb mare's mitavit gumnuts with economix pellets and pollard in a big feed bin and she looks great, in  three months she went from being bony to looking great, but i give my little paint about 2 kilos of the stuff a day

  3. Hi Emma,

Well, according to my calculations your horse is around 525kg. I also told the software that he was a hard keeper and needed to gain weight and that he was in light work (because this would increase his energy requirements and you said you wanted to ride him again). Here's what to feed, including the gumnuts:

    Kelato LoosenUP 4.0 g / day

Lucerne Chaff (Good) 2.4 kg / day

Mitavite Gumnuts 2.6 kg / day

Native Grass Hay (Average) 4.0 kg / day

Wheaten Chaff 2.4 kg / day

If you have kitchen scales you should try to weigh what you feed him (I have had to guess at the hay and chaff). The Kelato LoosenUP is to supplement some minerals he would be low in, but notice it's a very small amount (4 grams).

And the 2.6kg of gumnuts is 3 1/4 dippers. A dipper is 2 litres, so you need a lot more than your 3 cups.

NOTE that this is the total per day, not per feeding.

Oh, and on the back of the gumnuts bag there is also a recommended feeding rate which also suggests around 2 to 3 kg/day. And a dipper is 800 grams (0.8kg), so that works out to around 2.6 to 4 dippers.

    Good luck!

  4. Well I have a 16.2hh thoroughbred that has Gumnuts.

    I feed him 3kg a day (1.5kg each feed)

Not sure how many dippers that is. Sorry
