  1. They say that disposable cameras are a waste at a wedding reception because many people will either take pictures that you don't want (I watched a group of groomsmen take a few into a bathroom at a reception...  you don't want to know...) or they get taken home or pictures that are taken are of poor quality.  Your best bet is to make sure a few guests that are good photographers bring their own cameras and get copies of their pictures for you!

My wedding will be approximately the same size as yours.  We are not planning on having disposable cameras.  It's an extra cost that is not really worth it!  We will be asking for copies of pictures that guests take with their own cameras.  Specifically that people with digital cameras make CDs of the pictures they take at our wedding for us.

If you still want disposable cameras, one per table should be all you get.

  2. I would do 1-2 per table.  So, go by table and not by the number of guests.   Plus, most guests will have their own personal digital cameras.

  3.   one on each table is the standard, other wise getting them developed will kill you money wise. also take into consideration that practicly EVERYONE has a didgetal camera these days so im sure youll be getting sent snap shots from them for a while after you wedding

  4. As is probably the most common answer, one per table. But a few things to consider when doing this.

    1) get them put on a digital cd, so you can weed out the pictures that you aren't going to want to get printed. some of the best pictures i've seen have been the candids taken that the photographer missed.

    2) consider having a "scavenger hunt" list at the table. it gives the guests something to do during the cocktail hour and while they're waiting for everyone to finish eating. Include things like "Uncle Benny and Aunt Mildred dancing" or "Everyone at Table 9" or whatever pictures you want, but don't have to be professional photographer quality (or price).

    3) have a place for them to drop the cameras when they're used up so they don't get damaged at the tables (water, alcohol spills, etc.)

    4) still hire a professional photographer to do the major pictures you want, even if only for a few hours to cover: ceremony, family shots, first dance, and cake cutting.

  5. maybe 50 or less to 20, might be enough but im not very sure

  6. Are you dead set on having disposable cameras? If you are then its generally one per table so depends on how many tables you will be having.

I was considering having them for my wedding but most people I know have their own cameras (mostly digital) so we will be giving people Cd's instead to upload their pictures onto.  We have also set up a wedding path website (www.weddingpath,co,uk) where people can share their pictures of the big day.

One of my friends recently got married and she had disposable cameras on the tables, but they either didn't get used, or the pictures that were taken weren't any good! (i think people can get a bit carried away after a few drinks!)

    Good luck anyway!

  7. Just put one on each table if you are having round tables of 8-12. If you are having super long tables have one for each 10 people spread out on the tables.

  8. Zero.

I have heard many, many times that disposable cameras are a waste of money.  Too many children taking too many pictures.  Many photos are fuzzy . . . or of Great Uncle Herman's behind.

Take the money you would have spent on disposable cameras . . . and put it toward getting the best professional photographer you can afford.

  9. You will need at-least one per table or 15 10 20...the more cameras you have, the more chances of good pictures taken. My Daughter just did this..Just make sure that who ever takes the pictures are close enough! most of hers were to far away and didn't make for a very good picture...keep this in mind when they take the special pictures, like cutting the cake, Bride and Groom etc...  Sorry above, it was supposed to be 15 to 20..corrected^

  10. we had one on each table (2 if the tables are very large)

Hope your day goes as smoothly as ours x

  11. I would do one for each table. This is an idea we were toying with but not sure we are going to do it, I mean do you get the cameras back with the pics taken or do they take the camera home ?

  12. We used one for each table, so it depends on how many tables you have at the reception.  Give a few to trusted family & friends who will take the better pictures.

    Have a great day.

  13. Just one for each table will be enough.

  14. I'm looking at having about 125 guests myself. I didn't choose the amount of cameras according to how many guests I'm having. I just figured that most disposable cameras are either 24 or 27 exposure, so you gotta figure if you have 10 cameras, that's 240-270 pictures from the disposables alone, not to mention your pro shots. So it really depends on how many candid shots you wanna have.

I'm probably going to have 8-10 cameras myself, only cuz I know that I'll probably have a few unusable shots of the floor or of someone's thumb or up someone's nose, lol I dunno but after the beer starts flowin' I put NOTHING past my guests, lol :)

    Good luck!

EDIT: I agree with Suz123 on one point... if you are planning on ONLY having disposables in place of having a professional photographer, I wouldn't recommend it. I was going to do this myself cuz I didn't think that I could find a photographer that I could afford, but I found one in my area on Craigslist, and they (it's 2 sisters) charge $350 and that's from the start of the day until the end of the night (plus the cost of prints, of course) And they even agreed to give me a CD with the photos on as well so I don't have to worry about scanning them all after the fact! As I said, I'm still going to have disposables, and I'm planning on some of them not being usable, lol :)
