How many divisions in your state for high school wrestling?

Question

I am a coach in California. We have only one division for a state that could be it's own country. How many divisions do you have and how do you decide who is the true state champion? Does having 2 or 3 or 4 champions lessen the title in your opinion? I'm not trying to call anyone out or rip on anyone. This is an honest question as there has been talk floated about making CA a two division state because of our size.

Tennessee has 1 for public schools and 1 for private schools.
