I was wondering when how many dpo I should be before a pregnancy test that reads 25mui (i think that's right) can detect a positive result. My AF is due on the 24th of this month and I tested yesterday and got a ngative so I was wondering if maybe it could have just been too early? I was 11dpo when I tested. Thank you for your help!

  1. Some women can test positive that early, some can't.  The average is 14DPO, so wait a few days and test again.

    Good luck.

  2. I have bought test strips cheaply on ebay that claim to work on levels of 10mui and above...non-pregnant women generally have levels of around 5mui, so these claim to be the most sensitive for early testing. I completely agree with Rocker Wife though in regards to some women not being able to test positive early. It can take some women longer than others for implantation to take place and for HGC to be released as far as the urinary tract.

Don't be discouraged :] Wait another couple of days to be sure although I know the 2-week-wait is a nerve-frazzler! Wishing you [and I!] tonnes of babydust :]

  3. Yes, it could have been too early.  Some women build hCG slower than others.  I had a friend who didnt' get a positive until 3 weeks after AF didn't show.  Good luck!!!
