If we got them from the same cage at the pet store, how many could fit in there with no fighting?

  1. 2, 3 at most. you don't won't to over crowd them.

  2. None, unless it's connected to something else.  10 gallons are too small on their own.  And if you do connect it to something else, you run the risk of them becoming territorial.  Just because they're from the same litter doesn't mean they'll get along- they can still end up having to be separated.  They need to have enough space to run around and have their own wheels, sleeping areas, etc.  I'd say the minimum for even one dwarf would be a 20 gallon long tank.

  3. 2 or 3.... keep in mind that there is NO guarentee that they will not fight... you should have an additional cage/tank with water bottle, food dish and whel on-hand for each hammy you hae after the first...  there is always a chance of fighting.

  4. If you're looking into Chinese Dwarf Hamsters be careful, the store didn't tell us that females have a habbit of suddenly hating each other & tehy had to be seperated.

I had a search for a cage calculator but alas, I can only find calculators for Rat cages.

  5. Comfortably? Maybe 2. Cramped? 3 or more.

The thing with dwarf hamsters staying together is that their cage plays a huge role in keeping them from fighting. If there isn't enough room for all the hamsters, they'll start fighting over territory. However, if it is large enough, there will be less chance of them fighting. I mean, would you appreciate living with someone in your face 24/7? We all have our own space (our own bedrooms), and hamsters are somewhat similar.

  6. Hmm... maybe 3 or 4?

  7. 1-2
