How many egg do silkies lay until they go broody?

because mine has layed 11 and it still as not gone clucky

some chickens never get broody,we have 50 chickens and a few are broody but most are not and they switch on and off one day 3 will be broody then a week later 1 will be then a few days 2, (rarely ever the same ones)you never know....

The amount of eggs a hen lays doesn't indicate whether they'll go broody or not.

Silkies are generally a broody breed, just let her get on with laying, collect the eggs as usual. Then, if and when she goes broody allow her to collect and sit on however many eggs she wants.

You could encourage her to sit by placing china eggs in the nest box but this isn't a guarantee that she'll want to sit. It also depends on the individual bird as to whether she'll have a tendency to go broody or not.
