  1. A chicken can lay one egg a day, but not all year long. (Some breeds lay everyother and some every two days)  Their production depends on the amount of light in a day that is why they sometimes stop producing during the winter.  Some people put lights on timers in their chicken buildings to get eggs during times of year when the sun comes up later and goes down earlier.

  2. usually 1 per day

  3. No more than one a day. Not all chickens lay all year round. I have 16 hens and get 12 eggs a day all year round. Hope that helps :-)

  4. Most chickens lay one a day unless you have one sitting she wont then depends on the food they eat like laying pellets help a balanced grain helps grit also oyster shell all this plays a factor for good eggs and production and if the weather changes

  5. 1

  6. Well my chicken will lay one per day and she's a rode island red , that are breed for there eggs. When it gets really hot ( live in Texas) we might not get any eggs, or if it goes from hot to cold very quickly. With other breeds that aren't really breed for there eggs it might be one every other day. Just depends on breed of chicken and where you live.

  7. Usually only 1 per day.I have had a hen try and lay 2 in a day,but the second egg didnt have a shell on it cause she laid it so soon after the first one. They will sometimes go for a few days without laying. And mine stop laying during the molt when they need the protien to make new feathers instead of laying eggs.
