Is there a limit to how many embryos can be placed at one time here in Canada? I am going to become a gestational surrogate mother next year in the summer and I would like to know how many at one time is legal because I don't want to have a litter! Thanks.

  1. Even if you do surrogacy, you still have the right to limit the potential number of babies you might carry. Keep in mind that is they implant 4, you could carry all 4 until birth. When you are speaking to couples about being their surrogate, make SURE they understand your limit on embryo transfers. I'd not do more than 3. I understand they want to maximize their chances, but like you said, human's aren't designed to carry a litter of babies!

  2. I'm in Canada and the government is actually in the process of illegalizing surrogacy in Canada.

Try these websites. They may give you more information on surrogacy in Canada.
