  1. my friend i have never been to spain but i can assure you that 500euro for a two week holiday in a european country for a family of four does not even begin.i am maltese(prices cheaper than spain) and a two week holiday here in malta will cost you around 1000euro if you are very careful.i have just come back from 1 week in cyprus it cost me around1000euro having said that i didnt hold back on spending but i was alone not four so be careful and ask your agency for advice cos spain is renowned for being expensive.anyway wish you all the best, have a nice holiday

  2. Around 2000 Euros thats around 3000 US Dollars

  3. Actually I don't know about the prices for food in Spain, because I have never been there. But a friend of mine was living there for 6 months. I will ask him and add the information later.

So far I just can tell you how much you should expect in Germany when buying your food in the supermarket: 5 Euro per person a day is ok, I think.

Ok, he told me, that the prices differ (of course) towns are more expensive. Some towns have German supermarket "Lidl" where the prices are like in Germany where 5 Euro would be enough for a simple day.

Because you will be on holiday you might not want to eat the cheapest things all days. So I think you should take 500 Euro for two weeks and four persons as minimum for food.

    Enjoy your holiday!

  4. Well, a friend of mine just got back from Germany yesterday and she says the the Euro is worth 1.30.  So, if you figure that one out it might help you plan your budget a bit.  I'm sure there must be someplace on the web that has an up to the minute calculator.....

Edit:  Hey, isn't there a helpful European out there that can give this American family  a few tips on how to save money on food when they visit on vacation?

Heck, it's not often we ordinary working people in the U.S. ever GET a vacation....we could use all the helpful tips we can get!  It's not like our dollar is worth a h**l of a lot these days.....
