  4. This is up to the Ambulance Company' policies for riders. Some companies allow it to be the EMT's decision. My company allows for it to be my decision. I will allow one rider if the patient is a minor, if the patient if critical, or if it is an elderly couple and the spouse has no one at the house to help them. Only if the patient is a minor will I allow a family member to ride in the back of the box, otherwise all riders will be in the cab.

  6. One person can accompany the patient in the ambulance to the hospital, keep in mind that the squads policy only allows them to ride in the front seat.

    A parent of a young child, when the child is a patient, will be asked to accompany them in the back.
