  1. Stop before the limit line. It you're in the crosswalk (even if it's not marked), you're in the intersection and can be cited.

  2. the white line on the ground(behind the crosswalk) is where you are susposto stop

otherwise you may have to back up so that other vechicals can make a turn

or if there is a sign saying to stop so far back(ie railroad tracks)

if you are on a unpaved road or a road without the stripe you just need to stop behind the sign unless there is a sign stating otherwise

    goodluck

  3. Technically, a law is broken when you stop after the sign, so as long as you stop before it, you will be legally safe. I stop a couple feet back, just to be safe, then inch forward to see traffic better.

  4. The law has several requirements regarding the proper position for stopping at a stop sign. I teach driver's education and deal with this question daily.

First, If the stop sign has a stop line, you must stop at or before the stop line. Once you have stopped at the line, you may then proceed to roll forward, and if the intersection is clear you may proceed without stopping again. The first stop at the stop line satisfied the legal requirement.

In the absence of a stop line, you must stop before the first (or nearest) line of any crosswalk. Again, once you have stopped you may then proceed to roll forward, and if the intersection is clear you may proceed without stopping again.

Finally, if there is no line of any kind, you must stop prior to entering the intersection, if possible at or behind the stop sign. Your stop position should be where you have a view of cross traffic. You may then proceed to roll forward, and if the intersection is clear you may proceed without stopping again.

There is no requirement to stop within any distance of a stop sign, since stop signs must sometimes be placed in a position where it indicates the need to stop but due to the shape of the intersection the sign can not be placed close enough to the intersection to be a useful and safe stopping position.
