How man y of us still regard the Lionel train as an icon of toys and a prize to be had?

What's not to love about them?

As I'm typing this, I have nearly brand new Union Pacific GP-7 running under Legacy command control and pulling ten of Lionel's wonderful scale freight cars

I also have, on the next loop over, a 50 year old Erie Alco(2032) pulling a dozen cars from the postwar years.

The power for all of this comes from a pair of 50 year old Lionel ZW transformers, a true icon in and of themselves.
