  1. I did, brilliant speech.  Refreshing to see someone who is real.  I especially appreciated her ability to bash Obama with a sweet voice and a smile.  Man, you can't argue with that.  Biden is going to have his work cut out for him.

  2. One billion?

  3. Yes, and she did a great job with ad-libing when the  faulty tele-prompter malfunctioned. Listening to her speech, no one could tell when she was talking from her speech or when she was talking off the cuff. She will be an awesome debater. I can't wait to see her make hash of Biden and she can do it with a smile.

Mo, don't know where you get your mis-information, but you need to re-check your statements. I do believe about half of it has changed if you will go check the Messiahs website. You need to re-read it on a DAILY basis, so you won't end up with more egg on your face.

  4. I did and she is awesome!

    VOTE MCCAIN AND PALIN 2008

  5. I tried but it was so boring i fell asleep

  6. You bet!

Patriotic Americans from sea to shining sea were enthralled by her brilliant speech

  7. millions watched and it actaully had details not like a obama speech with empty rhetoric

  8. I watched her, and she was marvelous, broken teleprompter, and all. She proved she is an excellent speaker, and can handle her own. Barack said today she has no experience because he's "been running for President for 19 months, and this is her 4th day" (on the campaign trail, for VP), funny that, she acts more like a President, than he does a lawyer!

My almost 11 year old watched her too, and he said, "Mama, she must be a good Mama. Her little daughter is playing with the baby. "

He was referring to the youngest daughter of Palin holding Palin's son who has Down's Syndrome (and not listening to her Mother at all!) LOL! I was surprised he pointed that out. Family First, eh?

  9. Some of you ppl above dont seem to have a clue let me elloborate

I have to say Palin speech was really well done, she connected really well. Will be interesting, honestly both Republicans and Democrats have things to worry about.

Some areas where I was confused with Palin

-Palin seemed really confident that Obama is going to raise taxes. I guess she didn't listen to his speech because he clearly quoted and actually repeated that he will LOWER taxes, where Palin got the idea of him raising taxes I am not sure.

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/09/18/o...

    - Palin discussed about fighting lobbyists, interesting point is that McCain actually has a history with dealing with lobbyists, so I found that contradictory to what she represents.

    - Palin also stressed that Obama never fought for reform.. then surely she would know McCain never pushed for reform either, and in addition her Republican colleagues are far from her own view as well..Guiliani, Romney, etc all pushed for reform? lets just say I would give a 1000 sterling for anyone who proves me wrong.

    - Republicans really narrowed the perspective here, she never even discussed anything regarding the economy which in my opinion is a high as priority as keeping America safe. I find it remarkable that such an important issue was ignored, the decline of the US dollar, staggering debt, depending of foreign nations to carry our debt just to be sustainable and etc.

    - Palin discussed the terrorists and enemies of the US, but do you Republicans know that because of George Bushes foreign policies we have more enemies than before. Republicans foreign policy of "policing" the world has hurt Americas standing in the world, and here she is along with the Republican party attacking Obama and the Democrats as if the Democrats were responsible for the whole mess.

"Before America to become strong abroad, it MUST first be strong at home" Bill Clinton.

    - Another topic regarding Palins speech where I found hard to follow is the Republicans wanting to drill more at home and especially more in Alaska, what happened to getting rid of dependence of oil. Do you know how much it costs to drill oil along with the equipment, what happened to more investments in green energy. Surely you can figure out where I am going with this.

So Republicans, how does Palin appeal to you? if you say because shes a highly educated woman with a family , then I would have to place you with the other uneducated people that represent majority of the Republican voters (that my friends is an actual fact, it is not an insult).

IF ANYONE can rebuttal my points then please. Or if you guys are too ignorant just keep giving me the thumbs down lol

    MY RESPONSE to APERKY12

    1. Obama clearly explained this in his speech, go youtube it.

    2. Lobbyists who cares? pretty odd that you are willing to vote for a VP who wants to fight lobbyists and a President who deals with them, quite the contradiction you think?

do you even know what lobbyists are? quite an absurd comment youve made

    3. Yes please name a reform, and then explain majority of the Republican elitists on reforms (Romney, Thompson, Guiliani, etc) odd how your VP loves reforms but the majority of your republican party probably does not even know what it means.

4.There is a reason why democrats took congress, do you know why? because what the republicans were passing were in effective and we eating YOUR tax money.. ahem inefficient programs you might know "No Child Left Behind". You ever think of why we are depending on foreign oil, Bush had 8 YEARS in office and barely invested in alternate energy or was he too worried for Chaney and his association with oil company Halliburton, Germany is a prime example on what happens when you invest in alternate energy, explain the record deficit in addition explain why countries like China and Saudi have to buy our debt

    5. Quite the contradiction you think one moment Republicans are pushing for deplomancy and the next there policing the world,  Do you know what diplomacy means?

    6. Yes I am quoting Bill Clinton and you should thank him he was in office, do you realize JUST ONE term of Bill Clinton in office is statistically much better than TWO TERMS of George Bush in office. Do you realize Clinton left you Republicans billions of dollars of surplus to work with only for you guys to turn it into trillions of dollars of deficit further weakening the economy (Boy wonder why Palin didn't discuss this..dont you agree?)

    7. Well Aperky12 I bet you don't even know the founding fundamentals of the ORIGINAL republican party when Ronald Reagan was in office, the Republican party has lost its way, the originial republican party pushed for a HUMBLE foreign policy not the thuggery you see today, but of course you already knew that right?

I'll spare you unless you want more

  10. I did and thought she did a great job.

  11. I did try but Guliani which I usually like bored me and by the time I switched back she was done speaking.

  12. I did, I saw a lot of lies; more like a Fairy Tale story from Housewife to becoming the Vice President of a Dumb Country

  13. I did.  :)  I loved it.

  14. I opted to clean my cat's litter box!  Throwing away c**p versus listening to c**p........

  15. Yes, the number is 37 million about the same as Obamas, It was the best speech I have heard maybe ever, and she did it with grace and pose and a smile, in spite of Obama's media machine.

Mo--the convention isn't over yet, you are a day ahead,,and you know what? We've listened to Obama for 18 months and still don't know the answer to any of those questions or any other questions...lol...18 months and one convention....everything that was said is the same liberal policies,, I have yet to hear what is new or what Obama is changing...every time I think I know something, he changes his mind,,,,oh lol

  16. A little over 37 million people. Thats just shy of the 38 million that watched obama. Pretty good for a VP. I wonder how many watched Biden?

  17. Ok, here we go Mo H.  You asked for it.

    1. Obama will raise taxes.  All democrats raise taxes, that way they can fund their agenda.  Of course he tells you he won't.  Why would he.  His tax plan "Making Work Pay" says it will eliminate income taxes.  That's bogus.  He said it will save an individual $500 and a family $1000.  Bush cut taxes way more than that.  In 1999 the single making 30K - tax was $8,400 (under clinton).  In 2008 A single person making 30K - tax was $4,500.  That is a difference of $3,900, and Obama says he's going to save me a big woppin' $500.  Wow!  Thanks for the tax cut Obama. He says he will eliminate income tax for seniors making less than $50k.  I'm happy for seniors, but I'm not ok with having to subsidize for everyone else out of my hard erned money.  I have to retire one day too.  Third he is going to simplify tax filing for middle class Americans so it will take them less time to file and it will save them the money it cost to file your taxes.  Again, thank you Obama for saving me a whole $100 on filing my taxes.  Thanks, but no thanks.  I'll stick with my $3900 savings from Bush instead of my $600 savings from Obama.

    2. The lobbyists thing.  Who Cares!

3.Obama has spent 1 year in the Senate.  The rest of his term he has been running for office.  McCain has years and years of experience in the Senate where he has been involved in all types of reform. Do you really want to go there?

    4. You say that she didn't mention the economy.  You must have missed where she talked about the oil crisis.  That is part of the economy.  And if you want to talk about a poor economy, the economy was just fine until a democrate congress took over.  The poor economy all started about 2 years ago.  In '96 a gallon of gas was $2.19, now it is around $4 (depending where you live, $3.53 for me)  Also, the unemployment rate was at 4.5%.  Now it is at 5%, that is a 10% increase.  Americans voted for "Change" in 2006 and we got it.  Remember it's Congress that makes law, not the President.  He has to work with what's handed to him.

    5. We have enemies because we stand for freedom.  I'm sorry that Iran, Iraq, Cuba, Venezuela, China, and France don't like us.  Big deal.  So we are supposed to put forth a socialist agenda just so we can be friends with them.  We are the most powerful nation in the world.  We have many allies.  Obama's plan to go and talk nice to these countries that attack us and would love to see us go under is absurd.  If someone breaks into your house trying to kill you, do you ask them to sit down over a cup of coffee and discuss it or do you fight back.

6.You are quoting Bill Clinton?  Really?  I do understand that his idea for a strong country is for all americans to be able to have a quicky with their intern during the day in their office.  He droped the ball in dealing with Iraq and that's why we are over there right now.

    7. I'm all for alternative fuels, but why do you believe that all these alternative fuels are going to be so much cheaper.  Most cars run on gas, to change all that over would cost a fortune and take years and years, not to mention changing out all the gas stations.  Hydrogen fuel, yeah it sounds great and I'm not saying it isn't, but why do you think that would be so much cheeper to produce.  We have more than enough oil right now in our country to lower our dependence of foreign oil.  Once these other countries see that we are supplying our own, the price will magically decrease.  That is basic supply and demand.  Drill now while we work on another fuel option.

    8.  Finally, Palin appeals to me because she is morally desent.  She doen's believe it's alright to kill unborn children just because you got pregnant at an inconvenient time.  Since you are so educated let me put it in a clear form, 'Babies or more important than trees and whales' I guess it's safe to say your education failed you there.  She is also for preserving the sanctity of marriage.  She is for keeping the Bush tax cuts.  Let me also add what I didn't say in #1, Obama plans to double the capital gains tax.  Seniors who sell their home, their investment, so they can retire won't be able to because they will have to give most of you earnings to the government.  Then if they decided to leave it to their children the kids won't be able to afford the taxes there either.  And one other thing, she's against government spending like national healthcare.  Free health care will cost this country a fortune not to mention you won't be able to get a decent doctor.  Dont' believe me, ask Canada.  Those are just a few reasons why I support her.

I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point.

    My reply to Mo H!

First I just want you to know that I could go on and on with this debate.  I have so many rebuttles for your remarks!  The fact is though I doubt I am going to change your mind, and I know you don't have a chance at changing mine.

Before I start, I know you obviously think I'm an idiot.  Just so you know, I graduated from one of the top liberal arts colleges in the South.  I am educated, and my whole family and I have worked hard for everything we have.

I would like to tell you why I vote Republican.  I'll start with this, I am first and formost a Christian.  Based on your anwers it's probably safe to assume that you are not, so you probably will won't  agree with me.  In fact we probably don't agree on much.

First I am a Republican because I am as conservative as you get.  I believe it is murder to abort an unborn child.  I believe life begins at conception.  A baby has a hearbeat at 4 weeks, and since the first thing you check for is a heartbeat when you think someone may have passed away, I do believe that an "embryo" is a human life.  I have complete sympathy for women who make a mistake and get pregnant, and I feel deep sorrow for those who deal with rape and incest.  The problem is, I don't believe it's alright to end a human's life unless they have taken the life of someone else.  What you believe about the importance of life molds all of your other views.  I'm sure b/c you din't have a response to #8 that you don't care about an unborn life, so it makes lots of sense that all your other views would be warped as well.

I am also for perserving the santity of marriage.  I don't hate g**s, I don't want to kill them.  I just don't believe they should get married, because my Bible says it's wrong.  I have known g*y people who are really great people, but I don't think their lifestyle is what God intended.

I am for smaller government.  I don't think the government should have lots of control, and that is what democrats crave.  They want to control every part of your life.  That's why they are in great favor for welfare.  If they financially support you and your family, then they own you.  I believe in getting off your lazy butt and working for a living.  My family, along with many others, have done it for years.  I don't believe it's mine nor your job to fund and support people who will not help themselves.  Now if you are someone who is trying to find a job and willing to work and just need a little help.  I'll help you any way I can.

I am absolutely AGAINST nationally funded healthcare.  That is not the government's job.  If you don't have health insureanc, go get a job with health insurance.  This is the land of opportunity, you can have anything you want as long as you are willing to work for it.  I've been there.  I had no insurance and had to go to the emergency room.  I worked a job making about $30k a year.  When my hospital bill game in, I paid it off.  I did not ask for medicade, I did  without the new outfit and going out to eat and movies so that I could pay the  bill until it was satisfied.  That's what republicans do.  My husband and I also paid our way through college.  We had jobs and took out loans.  We didn't take the government's money.

There are many other reasons I vote Republican.  Are Republicans perfect? NO!  Absolutely not.  Everyone has faults.  Has Bush made mistakes?  Sure, but congress did send the bill to ban partial birth abortion and Bush signed it, for which I will forever be thankful.  I'll even agree with you on the "No Child Left Behind."  It didn't work, but that's b/c they were trying to put the responsibility of learning completely on the school and not on the parents.  It 's the parents job to make sure their children are staying caught up in school, not the government's.

You and I disagree on probably most everything.  That's why there are different parties.  For those like you who are kidding yourselves and wrong, you can vote for a Democrat.  For those of us who stand up for life and are right, we can vote for Republicans.  Hope you have a blessed weekend!

  18. Nelson ratings just in show over 37 million viewers, slightly more than watched Obama a week ago.

  19. Nielson Media Research had the number at 21.5 million.

Where Obama / Biden had 38.4 million

Yes, I watched, but was torn between laughing at her pathetic speech or cringe that some people actually thought it was good.
