  1. A gallon of vehicular gasoline weighs about 6.15 pounds at 60* Fahrenheit.

34 tons=68000lbs. Divide that by the 6.15lbs. of fuel and you get 11056.91 gallons...

...I think. Was this a serious question? :)

  2. 34 tons is 68,000 US pounds. According to the website cited below, one gallon of gasoline weighs ~6.2 pounds.

    68,000/6.2 = 10,967 gallons.

    11 thousand gallons.

  3. 1 gallon equals 1/100 to 5 pie over 6

  4. fyg - a metric ton is 2204.6 lbs, a short ton, or a net ton is 2000 lbs and a long ton is 2240 lbs.

a gallon is a unit of measuring volume and a ton is a unit for measuring weight.

liquids have a different density depending on the temperature.  density = mass/volume.

we know the mass (34 tons(?)) and the approximate density of diesel is anywhere from 820 kg/c.m. to 950 kg/c.m. depending on the grade and temp.

lets just use 820 kg/c.m. and metric tons for this discussion.

    34 metric tons = 34000kg/820 kg/c.m. = 41.4 cubic meters.

ASTM says that one cubic meter (c.m.) = 264.17 U.S. Gallons

so, basis estimated fuel density and temps the answer asf:

    34 metric tons = 10,936.6 U.S. Gallons.

    or

    34 short tons (30.8 mt) = 9,922.5 U.S. Gallons

  5. 34 tonnes of fuel is roughly equal to 68,000lbs of fuel.

each gallon of fuel weighs roughly 6.2lbs.

    68000/6.2=10968 gallons of Gas

    68000/7.1=9577 gallons of Diesel

    Depends which fuel

  6. 68000 galleons

  7. You are mixing units of measure.  Tons measures weight and gallons measures volume.  You need to know the specific gravity of the fuel you are using to calculate weight.  Fresh water weighs 62.4 lbs per cubic foot.  Gasoline and diesel weigh less than water, which is why it floats when spilt in a puddle.  To determine your particular fuel's weight, fill a small amount in a known volume and weigh it.  Then, put fresh water in the same container and compare the two weights.
