  1. i dont know how many gallons but i read that they get free gas from sunoco

  2. "On the track, according to NASCAR figures, Hamlin's Joe Gibbs Racing and the other Sprint Cup teams will use approximately 175,000 gallons of gas over the course of this season combined. That's just under 200,000 gallons of gas over 10 months – consisting of 36 races, practice runs, qualifying and sanctioned test sessions – compared to an average of 366 million gallons of gas per day by drivers across the United States."  ***

I don't/can't do math, so you can figure out the rest for yourself.  :  )

  3. $500,000 worth of gas a year and millions are pumped into the economy every week. Do the math before you come in here to bash the sport we love and what you could care less about.

  4. who cares??? gas prices r high cause not because of Busch or economics!!! For some reason its going WAY!!!!! up!

I'm not a redneck!!! so plz don't bash me or NASCAR for liking it!!!

    Also,

if u call any1 a redneck u wwill be repoted for abuse.

    Thank u!!

  5. A LOT.

  6. Far less than you or I in a given year.

  7. good question...... i think they use alot i am guessing..... take 40 gal x's 42 cars x's 36 races = 60,480gal.... but it could be a lot higher considering the nationwide races, and truck races, so i will say for cup they use 70, 000 gal!

-really would love to know the answer...................!

  8. Good answer Winter Glory.  Of course, if 100,000 fans each use up 3 gallons to get to the race, that's more by the fans just to get to one race then the drivers use all year long.  Because many more fans attend football, basketball, baseball, and soccer games (with NASCAR there's only one major league event per week), the criticism would apply to these sports as well.

  9. Enough to keep us fans happy. Now that NASCAR has allowed more testing at race tracks, they will use even more ! I think that's great !

  10. 215,999 gallons of gasoline and 1 gallon of jet fuel in the #55 car

  11. Way too much. How about we BAN auto racing?

It's boring, pointless, noisy and wasteful.

  12. just think how much Kyle burns flying around on triple duty

  13. Like Winter said, about 6000 gallons per race and 216,000 gallons per year.

I live in St. Louis. It's the 13th largest city in the U.S.

Based on an average of 25 MPG, we burn 2,880,000 gallons EVERY DAY which is 120,000 gallons an hour. That comes down to using one complete Nascar seasons worth of gas approximately every single '1 hour and 50 minutes' of every day!....or, approximately 20 Nascar races every single hour!...or 1 race every 3 minutes!

I'm only talking about citizens in cars and trucks. This doesn't include train's, construction equipment, countless flights out of Lambert airport etc. etc. etc.

If your asking to bash on racing a little because of the current fuel "crisis", it won't work. The numbers are just so miniscule to the rest of the world, it's literally 1 drop in the ocean.

  14. about 230 trail loads

  15. No where near enough.  Nascar needs to add more races.

  16. I don't know, probably a lot. Let me know if you find out a concrete answer. I'm interested!

  17. 6,000 gallons per race

    36 races

    216,000 per season

  18. 12 gallons
