  1. That is weird. The numbers for that are even missing from the reports issued by the US govt's own information distributor.

They can tell me how much air plane fuel they are selling but not gasoline.

What a great question, good luck.

  2. more than the rest of the world.

  3. I know how many gallons the USA uses as a nation, but not as a country. Sorry I couldn't help.

  4. I just read this answer.

First site with data from 2006 daily gas consumption is 386,000,000 gallons per day.  Yikes, that is a lot of anything.

According to this site, 69% of the daily gas consumption is for transportation.  For example, our shop has two gasoline powered forklifts and a gas powered sweeper.  Many contractors in our plant will use small gas generators.  Home builders will use gas generators to run their air compressors.  Look at all the lawn mowers run each day.  I for one would like to get rid of a lot of the grass and replant with native wild flowers and native grasses and plant a small garden.

As anyone can see, there is no easy solution.  But we need to start making big changes on the way we view transportation.  Oil companies wield too much power and are in a position to control this country, not the government.
