  1. Depends on size of barrel most are 35 gal. or 55 gal barrells and thats what they hold.

  2. It depends on what you mean by barrel.

The unit barrel used in the petrochemicals industry (usually to measure liquid volume, or volumetric flow rates) is equal to 42 U.S. gallons (about 35 imperial gallons), [1] however, actual barrels used to transport petrochemicals are 55 U.S. gallons (44 imperial gallon drums are used in the U.K.). [2]

  3. No, no, no and no.

The standard barrel used in the oil industry contains 42 gallons

  4. 45

    edit

it's 45 gallons in an oil barrel, 36 in a beer barrel. stick that thumb were the sun don't shine.

  5. UK or US? The ones people think of as an oil drum (about waist height) are 205 -210 litres.

    205 - 210 litres = 54.12 - 55.44 US gallons

                                =45.10 - 46.20 Imperial gallons

  6. The large steel drum every body calls an oil barrel holds approx 45 gallons. 1/2 size drums hold 25 gallons . 3/4 size hold 35 gallons .
