How many gallons of paint does it take to paint a car?

it is a 92 accord which is a small car, just curious so I dont have to buy 2 if i dont have to

1 gallon is nowhere near enough. I'd guess about 5, because 1 coat isn't enough, you'd need about 2 or 3. Not only that, but if it's a drastic color change, such as white to red, you'll need to paint it pink first, and then red. In that case, you'll have to get at least 7.

one gallon will be more than enough especially once you add thinners and hardners, you will have plenty!!!

Will you be painting the inside of the car, or just the external, and are you repainting it the same color? It will only take 1 coat for the outside, and should take 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon.

it depnds on the type of paint a single stage about 1.5 gallons but a base coat clear coat you will need 2 and don't forget to buy some sealer to use before you paint.

that's up to you. you can put from 1 to 20 coats on the car. one = lowest paint job and 20 = show car.....each coat will run about 1.5
