  2. About 40 gallons.  Depends on how concentrated the sap is (some Maples, like Sugar Maples, produce sap that is a bit more concentrated).

    Also, depends on the grade of syrup you make.  The darker the syrup, the more concentrated it will be, which means the more sap you will need to make 1 gallon.
