My Guess is Detroit in 6.

wow though.  I was not expecting a first game Shut out.  Since the Pens are not used to being humiliated will see how well they are at bouncing back from Emotionally as well as physically.

I am a Detroit Fan also but I really do hope the Penguins play with some real intesity soon.  I would love a Red Wings Sweep but not a humiliating Sweep.  Thats no fun.

Right above me, I forgot Samuelsson was your best player.  STFU dude, we don't need to bottle him up, he got open on some pretty easy looks that any NHL'er should have put away and he did.  If anything, we need to do excactly what you said and that is put bodies in front of Osgood, who played his *** off tonight, and get more shots on goal.  This series surely isn't over yet Wings fans so stop calling for the sweep.  It hasn't happened(and won't) yet.

Detroit won the first game 4-0

I think Detroit will win the next game as well, but expect the score to be a lot closer.  I think the Pens were a little more timid this game than they should be, and they are a skilled team.

It would not surprise me if it went to 7 games, each team winning their home games, but I would like to see the Red Wings win it in 4.  I am a Wings fan, but also recognise that the Pens can play much better than they did tonight and give Detroit a run for the money if they can step it up the rest of the series.

I'm seeing typical posts from fans of non-Original Six teams. The Penguins had a gift-wrapped first period and I was afraid they were going to bury the Wings, who looked nervous and flat-footed.

Our Australian friend knows what he is writing. A secondary scorer was on the loose and the Penguins had no answer.

Detroit in five. Pens will win one in Pittsburgh.

Instead, the Wings PK came to the fore and instead of being down 3-0 at the end of the first, it was scoreless. Samuelsson picked Ruutu's pocket, then he made Malkin look clumsy and stupid on his second goal AFTER knocking the oh-so-scary-monster Hal Gill off the puck behind Fleury and getting into scoring position.

That's the difference. The Penguins collapsed like a cheap card table after the first goal, whimpered after the second, then Cleary's shorthanded goal took whatever life was left from them.

The Penguins were totally outplayed the final 40 minutes and better be calling themselves The Desperation Squad when they hit the ice for practice today.

Detroit could sweep the Pens, it only takes another home win for the Wings in game 2; then all we need to do is win an away game...

Pittsburgh played well in the first period, with blocking shots and getting in Osgood's face. They were a bit unlucky not to score too.

But, they need to keep on getting men in front of the net if they want to challenge Detroit.

I am feeling pretty buzzed now. That was a good game, and I really hope the Wings win in 5. Let the fans watch Stanley being raised at home again.

I am not cocky, but the truth is... Detroit have lots more experience and we should be-able to win Stanley again.

The truth is; if Pittsburgh cannot bottle Samuelsson up, it will become an easier win than most expected.

I think that the Wings will get it in 5-6 games.   I'm hoping for 5 because I would love to see them win the cup at home, but I think they're going to do it in 6.   Their win last night was just what the Wings needed to keep them focused and give the confidence boost to keep their momentum going.   I predict that Detroit will win the next one and possibly one on the road, but the Pens are a great home team so they'll definitely get at least one win when they go back home.

What about the cleary goal? should have been a text book save. the pens havent played detroit they dont know what to do about their defense... if the pens cant stop the defense detroit is bringing look for a sweep. the wings overall outplayed, outskated, and outscored the pens. cnt wait 4 nxt game.

Predjudiced and admit it freely, I love my Red Wings, even when they suck. (fortunately that isnt very often) I dont think The Wings will sweep, I figure detroit in 5, maybe 6. I'm guessing 5 tho, cause the boys do like to end the series at home.
