  1. Considering all the money he's pulling in for doing absolutely nothing to benefit the team other than strike out and put on the mirage that he is still 25 and a good fielder, it's not going overboard to say he likely cost them a good couple of games; batting and maybe even fielding-wise.

I still don't see the logic behind bringing him to the Dodger Blue.

  2. I'm a Braves fan, so I don't know the answer to your question.  However, over the years Andruw has had his share of strikeouts, sometimes looking so foolish when he swings and misses the ball by a foot.  But he can get a big hit, and has also hit his share of home runs.

But what Dodger fans do not appreciate is his fielding ability.  I have seen him over the years make so many catches look easy - catches that Jim Edmonds would dive for and catch, and make the highlight reel.  But Andruw would be there waiting for the same ball to come down.  He also is consistently a league leader in outfield putouts with his strong arm.  OK, so he doesn't come through at the plate many times.  But I can assure you, when he is healthy, that he will help the Dodgers win games because of his defense.

Sorry for you Dodger fans that the trade seems like it's not working out.  Rafael Furcal, another former Brave, is on the DL also I believe.  I hope both of them heal soon and show you what they are capable of - because I have watched them for many years.

  3. The Dodgers are 14-12 in 1-run games this season. When you consider that Jones usually has around 65 RBI by this point in the season (based upon career stats) you could say that he's cost them at least 12 games.

Jones has been best this year with the bases empty, hitting at a .234 clip. He's hitting .092 with baserunners, .078 with runners in scoring position and .048 with runners in scoring position and 2 outs. He's hitless in 5 at bats with the bases loaded, though he has walked twice.

The only reason Jones is on a major league roster at this point is because the Dodgers aren't willing to eat his contract. .

  4. Let's put it this way.  If Jones had carried his weight the Dodgers would be up by 5 or 6 games in NL West.

  5. A lot. He is too fat.

  6. Quite A Few, Boy The Braves Made A Good Choice Losing Him.

  7. Runners on 2nd and 3rd in the Eighth and guess what, he struckout!

Atleast he got a double in the fourth
