  1. The 1908 World Series ended on 14-October, as the Cubs clinched Game 5 with a 2-0 shutout in Detroit, taking the championship 4 games to 1.

    Since then, 1909-2008 (through 23-July), the Cubs have played 15,590 games (7714 wins, 7799 losses, 77 ties, .497) in the regular season and 65 more in the postseason (18-47, .277), for a grand total of 15,655 games in sanctioned championship play.


  2. The Cubs have played in 16,620 games since they have last won the World Series. I am a Chicagoan and a big Cubs fan but I needed to use some help for this one and it was way back when Frank Chance was the head coach. Good Question.

  3. multiply the number of seasons by number of games per season, factoring in the change in numbers a few years back... that will give you the official number. add any post season and preseason games for actual number....
