  1. If you are referring to landing gear, it will generally be three on light aircraft: two beneath the center and on either side of the fuselage and either one under the nose or under the tail. Larger aircraft can have a series of gear or "trucks" beneath the center of the fuselage; depends on the size of the aircraft.

  2. What kind of gear do you mean. Landing gear, emergency gear, mechanical gear? Please clarify the question.

  3. Depends what airplane. A Boeng 747 uses a ford f100 5 speed.

  4. If you mean gears as in the gearshift on a car or truck, the answer is: None.  Airplanes have continuous ratio transmission systems in the form of propellers and jet exhaust thrust, and do not shift gears.

If you mean landing gear, it varies with the airplane.  Most small airplanes have three, but some large airplanes have more.

  5. planes do not have gears. they have turbine engines and they dont run on gears they run on turbines duh!!!!

  6. i don't know if you mean the landing gears or the transmission gearbox. if u mean the landing gears so your answer is that the aircraft has 3 landing gears distributed as following, 2 main gears each one fitted under each wing, and 1 nose or tail landing gear depending on aircraft configuration..

if you mean the transmission gearbox so your answer is that each engine has on gearbox transfer the variable RPM (Revolution Per Minute) into constant RPM to operate some parts such as hydraulic pump, oil pump, electric generater which are fitted on it
