Or these large indoor flea markets, with booths.

I was checking out one of these large buildings upstairs, and as soon as I picked up this nice golden blade knife, I think it was a cheese knife. Some one touch me on my shoulder, my son was with me, he can't reach that high, and no one else was that close. I know some ghosts-spirits are still attached to their personal stuff.

Has anyone else experience this in one of these type stores with old used stuff, antique shops?

  1. In the research I've done, Ghosts have no reason to haunt an antique shop itself. But, ghosts do attach themselves to people and objects. I've heard of people buying antiques they ended up selling back because of the extra baggage that comes with some of them!

  2. well, the antique shops r mostly cluttery, that may b causing that feel to u. but i do agree that if ppl r attached to their personal belongings very strongly, they tend to shield them by woteva way they can even aftr their death.

so u r urslf the best judge in ur case...

  3. I never considered an antique shop as a place that might be haunted.  As I am always looking for new places to investigate, that just adds another to my list.  I have heard stories about old things being haunted.  Some religions say that demons live in old things.  Yes, I know the name of the religion.  No, I am not going to say it.  But you will not find an antique in any one of their homes.  And that is here in the United States.

  4. Yeah...maybe they want their stuff back. Never thought about that. Instead of BOO they scream GIMME BACK

Scare the h**l out of someone eh?

  5. Why would they hang in an Antique shop more than any other place -unless there was something specific to their life that happened there..?

  6. There are no ghosts in the shops I browse in

  7. Seven and three quarters.  Good question.

  8. Since they are pretty much everywhere, I would say that the chances are there would be ghost in antique shops as well.

That was a great personal experience that you have related.  And you are correct that ghost and spirits are sometimes attached to personal belongings, but not as much as you might think. It appears that you enjoyed it though, so good for you.

I have had an experience in a flea market.  It was intelligent and wanted to interact.  But due to the company I was in at the time, I elected not to react to it.

  9. I am sure there are spirits hanging in antique shops, or at least their stagnated energy. Many spirits are really attached to their stuff. I am sure there are lots of spirits in museums too, this just came up my mind now.

I remember I visited a harbor in Maryland a couple of years ago, and my husband and I had the chance to visit a ship that was in the World War II. We could tour in the ship. All the visitors and all the tourist guides were so proud of being there. Even my husband was proud, checking all the information with joy, because it was a piece of history, after all. I was the only one there who was feeling depressed, because I was the only one who could feel the spirits attached to that thing. My eyes saw suffering where everybody saw glory... We have the gift, my friend.

    Peace!

  10. I find shops that have a lot of antiques often have a different kind of feel to them compared to a shop with only new things. I imagine it has a lot to do with the residue energy on the objects from the people who used them and touched them. Some objects would have a high emotional or sentimental connection to them.

Also often those stores are very crowded with stuff everywhere. It limits proper air flow so it would create a certain amount of stagnant energy.

I haven't ever researched whether or not antique shops have a higher rate of ghosts or paranormal activity, but I Will definitely start looking into it. That is a very interesting premise. thanks for the question. :)

  11. Actually contrary to the previous answers, there may very well be more spirits in an antique shop.  There are some spirits that are attached to "things" instead of places and people.  So Aunt Sarah may hang around her old dresser and follow it wherever it goes.  Some spirits are attached to their land, but if their dresser or a brush or a chair is more important than land, they would stay with the item.

An antique shop also feels different because the items in there are not brand new.  Every time we touch an item, energy is "attached" to that item. So each item essentially holds a history or record of events including emotions of it's entire "lifetime".  So, in an antique store, for those are sensitive to energy, it would feel very heavy and can be overwhelming.

  12. No. I hardly visit antique shops but they could be ghosts in antique shops, you said old used items. Most spirits hold on to the items [ or the place they lived in] they don't let go. So maybe one of the itmes belonged to them and they attached themselves to it!! That is what I heard from MANY EXPERTS!! It might not want you to have the item :)) Like the answerer before me said, they hold on to things they had in life or sometimes just to some random things.

This is why people say many old homes are haunted because they are attached to something they had in life!!! Would not surprise me!!
