Well so far none of the countries actually said they're not going to participate. Certain people have declined their invitation because of China's reaction to Tibet's declaration of independence. But it's a hard situation for China. Not that blaming the Dalai Lama is a good idea - far from it!

But with the countries there, I think China might have a good shot at Olympics. They've been training extra hard. I hope that really fast runner wins at the relays. There is so much pressure on him to win. Diving is an easy one for China too. I hope Michelle Kwan will do well at ice skating!

No, most of countries would still partipate, you should not rob athelets' dreams to compete for their countries, but quite a bit of them would not attend the opening ceremony which symbolize the world's approval of china.  It will be very funny to see chinese leaders' faces when they found out they and thier athletes are the only people in the statdium on the opening night.
