How many goldfish can i keep in a 10 gallon aquarium?

NONE!! fancies (and commons) get way too big for a 10g. the reccommended size for fancy goldfish is 50g+, with excellent filtration, and 10g+ per fish. if properly cared for, they can get 8-10 inches long and can live for 10-15 years. putting them in a 10g will stunt them and shorten their lifespan. guppies/dwarf platies or a male betta would be better for a tank of that size.

well.... as long as u get them small you can have like... start small like maybe 3 or 4. i got mine and put it in a big tank (there was just one goldfish in it) and it kept growing and growing!!! now its huge and its just with one other fish and they're in a 29 gallon tank... they can grow pretty big!!!

They usually say one gallon to one inch of fish, so if you have ten one inch goldfish ten gallon tank would be perfect.

Long term, about 1/2 a goldfish.

Now you can put a couple of baby goldfish in a ten gal, and they will live fine, for a while. But after a year or 2 they will probably have outgrown the tank, overwhelmed the filter capacity and died.

For goldfish, get a 20gal+ tank for life.

If you want a 10gal, go with White Cloud Minnows or small tropical species that only grow to 1 or 2 inches long

none. 10 gallon is too small for fancy goldfish in the long-term. in the short term you could keep one in there until it's about 3"-4" then it would need upgrading to 20-25 gallons.

fancy goldfish get to around 8" long and are hugely messy they need 20 gallons per fish minimum with over-filtration.
