Demanding ever lower prices from vendors and suggesting that they go off shore to manufacture their products causes the loss of millions of jobs. How many jobs are lost this way?

  1. ummmmmmmmm...not any more than Zodys, Gemco, K-Mart, Target, JC Penneys, Mervyns, ad nauseum...

Do some research on "the all-American" company LEVI's.  they haven't been in the US for a while.

Look at the tags from the clothing you are wearing that we all know you didn't buy at Wal-Mart...where were they made?

Nike, and all these other big brand names aren't made here in the USA - so please......unless you only buy 100% American made - including cars, bikes, computers, phones, and all the accessories that go along with those items, just shut the **** up about Wal-Mart because you have been sadly mistaken and presumptuous

  2. You're thinking like a competitor.  Try thinking like a blue collar, cash strapped consumer.

In point of fact, discount stores have been around a long time > Kmart started in 1963, & Wal-mart around the same time.

The example I remember best from high school economics was this one>> Let's say you're multi talented.  Not only are you the fastest typist in town, you're also the best lawyer!  Now, which profession would you choose?

We as a country have to stop thinking we want to be the fastest typist in town.  The money isn't in pounding on a keyboard for 8 hours a day. The money is in high technology, engineering & medical services.

What we should be doing is training our work force for those things we're really good at.  And let other countries make our nickel dime items.

  3. Wal-Mart does not believe in good paying jobs!  Unless you consider minimum wage as good pay.
