I have about 750 sq ft of open space for my wedding ceremony. How many max guest do you think I could fit? I was thinking a small wedding with only about 20-25, but a friend of mine thinks it will hold up 30-40. Opinions?

Thanks so much!!!!

  1. 750 sq ft is about the size of a one-bedroom apartment.  I can't imagine 40 people in my old apartment, so that might be on the extremely packed side of the spectrum.

"They" say that 1/2 your guest list actually attends, so maybe work from your VIP guest list and see how far you get - the people you invite is more important than the number.  (Please don't invite 80 and hope only 40 will come though!)

  2. What does the fire code specify?

750 square feet is only the size of a small apartment...not big at all.

    I wouldn't go over 25.

  3. As a guy, I myself would want to keep it small. Maybe somewhere between 20-25, especially if this is in the Summer and people are all in there sweating and such from all the excitement in the air... you need room to move around with tripping over people.  Too many people and I think your be frustrated trying to walk from one side of the room to the other.  Good luck with what ever your choose, after all it is your special day.

  4. It would go up to thirty, but no way would it be a comfy forty.

  5. Call your fire department.  They can tell you nearly right away how many people you can safely have at your parents home.   But, yes, I would say no more than 20-25. You need room for people to sit, to exit in the event of a fire, etc.
