How many guppies can I put in a 10 gallon tank?

  1. I suggest you put in 3, 1 male and two females. They will multiply to overpopulate the the tank very quickly ;)

    The tank can probably support 10 to 20 adults once it's fully established and cycled, but you will have to have good filtering and keep up the water changes to keep a large number healthy.

  2. you can put three males maybe four but unless you have the time and money to invest in a larger tank do not get females because they will multiply like crazy and will over populate your tank VERY fast, also just because you buy nothing but females does not mean you won't get babies because they are usually all pregnant when you bring them home.

  3. If I were you I would buy 1 male and 1 female, but they need to look amazingly good because they can produce the offspring for your tank. And make sure they kinda match or your fish will look miss matched. I love breeding guppies. The fish will stop breeding once they know the tank is over crowded so don't worry.
