  1. You Need At Least 25

  2. 5 in the minimum

  3. Technically guppies don't really "school" like what you might have in mind, but they do tend to stick together fairly well. They do better in larger numbers, that much as been proven.

I would recommend between 6-10, and definitely female only - or you will end up with quite a bigger number.

Also, make sure when you are buying the females that they are separated well from the male tanks, and that none of them look pregnant. Just make sure you have a large enough tank - For ten or less guppies ONLY, you should have at least a cycled ten gallon tank, and add 1-2 per week, not all at a time so you won't throw your bio filter out of whack and risk all your fish getting sick or worse.

Just in case you are wondering, I don't recommend only males because they do tend to nip at each other and worse. I used to have a tank with only 5 guppy males, and they eventually killed each other off. That's not necessarily always going to be the case, but better not to risk it.

    Best of luck to you!

  4. you dont want guppies for the school type fish. in 60 days your tank would be over run with guppy fry .

Try neons or something like that.

  5. Guppies aren't schooling fish. They like to be in groups, but they don't swim together like tetras would.

  6. 12 would make it significant.Or if you want more average would be

18.Also 24 maximum.12 will also be the minumum.

If you want try adding an even number.Odd numbers of fish

    are also good.
